Japanese dictionary: find kanji by stroke, or Japanese/English translations


A Japanese kanji and Japanese to English translation dictionary. Search for kanji by stroke, number of strokes, or hiragana. Then display some basic information about the kanji, meaning, all entries in the edict dictionary where that kanji is used (whether first character, last character, or somewhere in between). Lookup Japanese to English translations by kanji, hiragana, katakana, or English. Keeps history of kanji found, or translations found.Uses the EDICT and KANJDIC dictionary files from the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group.Dictionaries are included. Kanji Jisho does not require a network connection.

Issues with homonym ON yomu When kanji drawn is a homonym, that could be an "Amber" caution result and not a "Red" for Fail even tbough not getting equiv of a Green checkmark: offer $$ users 3 jugoku with the intended in Bold katakana or as furigana over a blank space or block char ... anything but Wrong, as homonym ON yumu are the nihongo kanji challenge. Paying users deserve encouragement, not needless exasperation over what is frustrating about kanji. If a kanji has a unique Kun reading: !!

Finally an app with search by stroke count

This app has a simple and easy-to-use interface and the usage references are invaluable. One thing I would like the app to have, though, is the ability to look up kanji by selecting multiple radicals comprising it. That will give this app the last star.
